Job Description

New, Continuous Improvement Engineer position located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire with a large manufacturing organisation, this is a Days Based, Process and Manufacturing Improvement position, working Monday to Friday.Client DetailsLocated in Rotherham, South Yorkshire my client is a large engineering and manufacturing organisation with 3 sites across the UK. They are currently going through a large expansion across the South Yorkshire manufacturing site with new custom-built machinerybeing installed. Due to these expansion plans and internal promotions, they are now looking to recruit a high calibre, Continuous Improvement Engineer to drive manufacturing improvements across the site.DescriptionAs the new Continuous Improvement Engineer you will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager where you will ensure that systems and standards are in place, and act as a champion for continuous improvement activities, to encourage participation and developmentof a culture of continuous improvement. You will coordinate the operational excellence agenda, identifying opportunities and leading projects to improve all elements of the site performance.Additionally, you will be responsible for evaluating operational and financial data, and recommend any initiatives, you will be tasked to identify the route cause of production and machinery issues and implement changes to improve the processes using yourmechanical engineering appreciation and background.

  • Working closely with a team of process engineers and presenting your findings to the Manufacturing manager.
  • Support and Liaise with all manufacturing personnel to aid the successful resolution of issues in daily manufacturing activities (process and technical).
  • Maintain, develop and optimise key processes, including evaluating data and monitor site processes and systems.
  • Evaluate metrics, discover areas for improvement, take corrective actions, monitor and validate changes and upgrades.
  • Train and support production employees process understanding, technical knowledge and competency.
  • Actively participate in, or facilitate, root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.
  • Plan and organise trials, communicate presentations and technical reports when required.
ProfileTo apply for the Continuous Improvement Engineer position located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire you will have/be:
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • Hold a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to coach and influence at all levels.
  • Good planning, project management and facilitation skills.
  • Flexible approach towards working hours is essential.
Job OfferYou will be employed on a permanent contract working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. You will earn a salary of £35,000 to £45,000 depending on background skills and experience.
