Job Description

CNC Setter/Programmer - Perm NightsRotherham£15.19ph + 33.35% nights shift allowance (£5.06ph) = £20.25phSunday 8pm - 6amMonday to Thursday 11pm - 6amThe main responsibilities of the role will be to work in the high volume CNC section in accordance with the work to list.The role will involve SOS checks, setting, programming and operating the machines, carrying out quality checks of work in progress and using CMM systems to generate quality reports.Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Must have experience in operating CNC machines up to a 400mm chuck size;
  • Ability to programme and operate a Fanuc system is essential;
  • Proven skills including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs;
  • Experience with 3- and 4-jaw chucks would be advantageous;
  • Must be able to read technical drawings;
  • Must be able to work to tight tolerances and deadlines;
  • Must be able to work as part of a team and possess good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience in using a Mitutoyo bridge CMM, FARO arm or similar would be advantageous in order to carry out first article and in process parts inspection.
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Must be educated to apprentice level or above;
  • Must have proven track record working in high volume manufacturing;
  • Strong IT skills and experience in programming CNC machines.
Other information:
  • The selection process will include a work trial after interview;
  • Training will be provided to the successful candidate, both internal and external as required.
