Job Description

Senior Payroll Executive East London/ Essex BordersOverviewOur client is a highly respected, well-established firm of Accountants. After building a solid base of faithful clients, they have developed further business, and this has meant an even busier Payroll Bureau departmentA key part of this firms practice is to offer an outsourced Payroll service to their clients. This has been taken up by more and more companies and has necessitated a full-time experienced Payroll Executive to work in a small team and gain recognition and opportunity by contributing to new processes and procedures, adding value to payroll projects, and overseeing more junior staffDuties

  • Work in a vibrant payroll bureau function for multiple clients.
  • Payroll runs Weekly, four weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • All areas of PAYE schemes and deductions
  • Run weekly, fortnightly, 4-weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll
  • Set up new clients on payroll, creating PAYE references and government gateway accounts
  • Processing SMP, SSP, SPP, ShPP
  • Directors pay and dividends.
  • Sole traders and Ltd company
  • Use of Sage line 50, ideally with pensions.
  • Take responsibility for the day to day administration of small to medium multiple client payrolls
  • Administrate RTI submissions and process end of year forms P60
  • Deal with new employees and leavers
  • Maintain updates to the payroll system
  • Administration and manual calculation of SSP, SMP, and Occupational Maternity Pay
  • Set up Court orders, CSA, and other Attachment of Earnings orders
  • Manual salary calculations
  • Check payroll reports and implement Payroll related queries where appropriate
  • Assist with reconciliation and payment of PAYE and national insurance contributions
  • Liaise and deal with any client queries in a timely fashion
  • Assist with tax year-end procedures
  • Upload reports to the system for the clients to check, as well as create and run ad hoc reports for different departments in the companies
  • Assist with benefits administration, i.e. gym, membership, season ticket, cars, medical
  • Proactively carry out payroll reconciliations and analysis
  • Use own initiative to resolve issues and to assist the team where possible
  • Support and assist with the Payroll team, where appropriate
  • Experience in working with various payroll systems i.e. ADP HR net, Access, Trace pay, EasiPay Plus
  • Candidate requirements
  • Happy to work in a busy with minimal supervision.
  • Comfortable dealing with clients and employees to resolve problems.
  • Good telephone manner
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant payroll experience
  • Ideally Experience of working for a firm of Chartered Accountants or a payroll bureau
