Job Description

My client, a leading Insurance brokers with offices throughout the UK is seeking a Junior Administration Assistant to join them at their head office in Romford.This role would suit a school/college leaver who is looking to secure their first formal role in business.PurposeThe role is within the Underwriting Department sand involves dealing with clients over the telephone and via email.The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support to the Underwriting Team.Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with all aspects of administration, ensuring all data inputted is accurate and sufficient.
  • Deliver excellent customer service whilst meeting customer requirements efficiently & effectively for Mid-Term adjustments & all other customer interactions.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records of all customer interactions.
  • Identify complaints and refer to the necessary complaint handler.
  • Dealing with queries by email and in person ensuring that all SLAs are adhered to and create outbound emails as necessary.
  • Required to escalate to the relevant referral point where necessary within the Branch.
  • Perform multifaceted general office support.
  • Learn the processes and procedures required to answer a customers query, provide quotations, process adjustments & put forward suitable products to meet the clients demands and needs.
  • Learn the administration processes and procedures in order to support the New Business, Existing Business and Renewals team.
  • Send all correct documents to brokers, ensuring we are compliance with our binding authority agreements.
  • Process on cover instructions from relevant teams on the relevant systems.
  • Process diary requirements accurately.
  • Ensure that all product information provided is clear, fair and not misleading, allowing the customer to make an informed decision.
  • Ensure that the relevant business systems are up to date.
  • Learn how to calculate MTA premiums in accordance with the specific carriers risk appetite and guidelines or liaise with insurers for all non-delegated authority business.

Product and Technical Knowledge
  • Required to learn and understand the legal principles of insurance and insurance contracts including our obligations to insurers.
  • Required to learn and understand technical knowledge of the product range, including understanding of the coverage provisions, exclusions and conditions of the policy wordings.
Skills and Competencies

  • Honesty, integrity, reputation, competence/capability & financial soundness as required under the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Guernsey Financial Services Commission (GFSC) and Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC)
Experience
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is an advantage.
  • Previous administration experience is an advantage.
Qualifications
  • Educated to GCSE level.
