Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 Clinical Psychologist to join our Medway YPWS team based at The Courtyard, Gillingham.You will be part of a multi disciplinary team (MDT) which offers assessment and treatment to children and young people, who have mental health disorders.The post holder will undertake initial assessments to identify the mental health needs of the young person and then deliver evidence based treatment within their discipline in the community setting which can include schools and patients homes as well as our hub.In addition, the post holder will clinically supervise junior members of the team and take on a leadership role within the team. The post holder will have a caseload which they will need to manage effectively utilising excellent communication and documentation skills.The Havering CAMHS team are looking for an experienced clinical psychologist to support the needs of children and young people in the London Borough of Havering.The post-holder will be a post-graduate qualified clinical psychologist fully registered with the appropriate professional body (e.g. HCPC, BACP, UKCP AFT, ACP).The post-holder will establish and maintain excellent working relationships with wider mental health and wellbeing services and ensure adherence to evidence based treatments by all clinical staff across the CAMHS team.The post-holder will be directly involved in delivering and supervising a range of therapeutic interventions, which may include parent work, group work, school observations of children, short term CYPMHS input and specialist psychological treatments. They will be responsible for all specialist psychological assessments and treatments within their professional sphere of expertise within CYPMHS.Probationary PeriodThis post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).Assessment/Interview infoAt NELFT we set very high standards to ensure we provide quality services.
