This post requires a skilled and experienced inpatient Physiotherapist who is looking for an opportunity to specialise Critical Care, Respiratory & Surgery and to further develop their Management and Leadership skills within a large Teaching Acute Care Trust.You will be working within a team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who pride themselves in providing high quality care to Critical Care, Respiratory and Surgical wards. You should have past experience in managing critically unwell patients, respiratory patients and Surgical patients. Surgical specialties that you will encounter include General Abdominal, Colorectal, Upper GI, Vascular (including acute Amputees) and ENT. In addition to this you may be required to provide relief cover to Neurosurgical Critical Care and be available to participate in on-call and weekend duties. This post also requires you to have the flexibility to work cross-site at King George Hospital (KGH).The successful applicant must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and have the ability to work under reasonable pressure within a multi-professional environment. You must also possess the desire to review current practices and the ability to help influence and promote change that will lead to advancement in patient care in line with the Trust’s aims and vision. You will have good networking skills and be familiar with current legislations and other relevant factors affecting change in the NHS.As a Band 6 and a static member of the team you will be working closely with highly specialised team-members and you will be expected to deputise in the absence of more senior leadership. You will be expected mentor and supervise less experienced staff including students on placement while playing a key role in maintaining good working relationship with our local Tertiary Education Providers.
