Job Description

Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) cares for a population of around 750,000, operates across two sites on the London/Essex border and serves some clinics across outer North East London and some services from Barking Hospital.BHRUT’s ambition is to become an ‘Employer of Choice’ for all Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs). In line with this, the Corporate Nursing team is leading an exciting portfolio of strategic workforce development and education projects. Known as the Career Maps Projects, this suite of initiatives will drive a step-change in the way Nurses, Midwives and AHPs are recruited, trained and developed as senior clinicians and leaders of their various professions.Engaging, accessible high quality blended learning and digital education is central to our ambitions and the rich opportunities we offer to staff, students, trainees and operational leaders. We are committed to designing and developing highly usable, engaging, flexible and relevant blended education opportunities that reflect the changing needs of our workforce, students and education partners.To facilitate this transformation with we are looking for a dynamic Senior Learning Technologist to join the education and workforce development team.The ideal candidate would be a Learning Technologist or Online Learning Professional with expertise in instructional design, curriculum design, technology-enhanced education, looking for a leadership challenge or career change.Through this innovative and exciting opportunity, the Senior Learning Technologist will also:

  • Gain ‘real life’ experience of system-wide change and improvement
  • Learn how to work with and influence senior clinicians and professional leads
  • Gain transferable skills in strategic workforce education and development within healthcare
  • Develop skills and knowledge in the quality improvement of healthcare education
  • Develop their personal and professional profile as a digital education leader.
  • You will manage the delivery and implementation of a diverse digital education projects and workstreams within the corporate nursing education and workforce development team. As our Senior Learning Technologist, you will work collaboratively with education leads and practice facilitators within the Trust, across the North East London STP and represent the Trust nationally.You will be a motivated and enthusiastic professional with a high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
