Purchasing Assistant RochesterMonday - Friday£18,000 - £23,000 paDo you have an interest in Nutrition or Health, or would like to learn more about this industryThis role is joining a growing manufacturing company within the Food / Pharm industry, and would suit a candidate with previous experience or Buying or Purchasing, ideally of raw components, who is eager to learn about the industry, new products and ingredientsThe role of Purchasing Assistant / Buying Assistant includes:-

Talking to your suppliers and negotiating prices

Stock control of approx 400 raw ingredients

Updating databases with accurate stock checks

Working closely with the manufacturing teams to ensure ingredient availability for production

The successful Purchasing Assistant / Buying Assistant will:-

Have the ability to build relationships with suppliers, so they understand your exact requirements and can offer alternatives if necessary

Be friendly and organised, with excellent written and spoken English

Be happy about asking your suppliers for advise, as this will be a major part of the role

The role includes talking to suppliers, updating systems, stock control, price negotiations etc, and ensuring you ask the right questions and negotiate the best possible prices
