Youll support the production team leader on a shift basis, on all production related activities at the station. Sounds intriguing doesnt it. But what does it really meanIn simple terms, youll be responsible for ensuring that the power station, which is a combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) station, is operated safely and efficiently when its needed. In this blended operational and technical role youll not only be operating but you will also be analysing and diagnosing plant issues, alongside this you will also be carrying out audits of various activities across the site to ensure processes are followed, implementing site safety rules, manage contractors on site, monitor compliance and basically be the Production Team Leaders right arm.CCGT stations like Damhead Creek in North Kent are crucial to the stability and flexibility of electricity supply to homes around the country. The station will support the ebbs and flows of solar and wind generation by being able to react quickly to the national grids needs. This means when its not sunny or windy, or when we all get home from work and switch our heating, cookers and tvs on, the need for different power stations like this one kicks in.We think CCGT plants are pretty important. And you will too. Youll need previous experience in a maintenance role working in similar large-scale process industry, coupled with an HNC/ONC in an engineering related discipline. Youll need to be pretty comfortable using IT daily as its not just a big red button that turns the units on and off. Youll need to operate (or learn how to operate) the systems that run the units.Youll work on a shift rota with a team, all working together to ensure the safe running of the station.
