Job Description

Farrer Barnes is partnering with a successful business in Medway who are seeking to strengthen their operations department.This is a company based in Medway with easy access to public transport and parking available if you do drive.The Operations Assistant is a fast paced role supporting a busy dept.Responsibilities

  • Monitor the production processes and suggest improvements
  • Maintain and monitor inventory.
  • Ensure that UK production is cost effective & identify savings where possible.
  • Manage stock control using current IT packages, including annual stock take
  • Monitor customer acceptance of production samples where applicable
  • Resolve issues relating to production planning conflicts & issues
  • Raise purchase orders & delivery notes, update goods-in and finished goods information
  • Regularly liaise with relevant personnel and departments across the business
  • Support all areas of the supply chain function as required
  • Chase suppliers for delivery dates and negotiate improved dates where necessary
The person we are looking for will be agile and experienced in a fast paced environment, ideally having previous exposure to operations or manufacturing.Additional preferences would be:
  • Experience of Microsoft Office confident in Excel
  • Accurate data inputting skills
  • Experience of working in a production planning, scheduling, supply chain role
  • Experience of dealing with customers
  • UK driving licence
