Job Description

SEND Teaching AssistantSEND Teaching Assistant RochdalePay scale £80 - £90 per dayAre you an experienced Teaching Assistant Seeking a new long term positionIncrease your chances of reaching the interview stage by reading the complete job description and applying promptly.Empowering Learning are currently working on an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join a fantastic and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Rochdale.It takes a special person to work with SEND children, if you are looking for progression in a role and feel you can support SEND children keep reading.

  • The school are keen for a new SEND Teaching Assistant to join their support staff, supporting KS3 and KS4 pupils with special educational needs.
  • As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will be supporting students with special educational needs, providing tailored 1:1 support within the classroom as well as smaller group sessions focused on supporting pupils with their development areas.
  • The SEND Teaching Assistant role will be starting soon as possible on a full time basis, 8.30am - 4pm until the end of the academic year.
  • Responsibilities include: Planning and delivering 1:1 support and working with smaller groups of students that require additional support.
  • Engaging SEND pupils and encouraging interaction with lessons Supporting children with their literacy and numeracy work.
  • Liaising with the Class Teacher and Parents to discuss pupils progress and performance Supporting the Teacher with lesson prep and the delivery of lessons.
  • The ideal candidate for the school: Hold a relevant degree or Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working with children within a school
  • Experience of working with special educational needs is desirable
  • Ability to adapt approach to meet learners needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills
