Empowering Learning are recruiting for a SEMH Teaching Assistant on behalf of a lovely Rochdale based secondary school to work on a one to one basis with a year 10 student with Social and Emotional needs. The student needs a empathetic and compassionateindividual with an understanding of the issues they face on a daily basis. The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant must also show a willingness and ability to develop a positive rapport with the students family and be confident informing the family of progresson a daily/weekly basis.Interviews are initially over the phone at 3:15pm on Thursday 1st September. The first call entails a discussion with the school SENCO and Assistant SENCO.There are no formal qualifications required for this SEMH Teaching Assistant position although it is advised to carefully read the full advert prior to applying if you are seriously looking to be considered for this role. The school can train a person whois motivated, driven to succeed and passionate about supporting the needs of young people.The school for this SEMH Teaching Assistant role:One of the most improved academies in the country in 201611-16 secondary school with around 1100 students, operating just under capacityState of the art facilitiesSupportive SLT teamPassionate about supporting staff development0.5 Progress 8 scoreMajority of students achieve their target grade across core subjects subjectsThe school are looking for a dedicated and passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support Team.There would be the opportunity to gain your Level 1, 2 and 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification with the Academy.As a SEMH Teaching Assistant you will supervise individuals and groups of children in order to accelerate their progress and learning, working in close liaison with teaching staff and leaders to ensure students catch-up with their learning (enabling them todo well and access the full curriculum).You will also work with the Director of Special Educational Needs and Learning Support to assist with the planning and delivery of the Key Skills and Catch-Up group work-shops and support teachers to ensure such students develop good and great attitudes tolearning.The school has a strong focus on supporting those from disadvantaged backgrounds, with almost 1 in 3 receiving free school meals.
