Job Description

� Exciting Opportunity: Refuse Driver �Are you an experienced Refuse Driver with a Class 2 vehicle licence Our client, a leading waste management organisation in Rochdale, is looking for a skilled and reliable Refuse Driver to join their team!The Role:As a Refuse Driver, you will play a vital role in providing full assistance to the Recycling/Refuse Loaders. You will be responsible for operating a Class 2 vehicle, conducting daily vehicle checks, and reporting any defects promptly. Additionally, youllperform routine maintenance to ensure compliance with regulations and optimise vehicle performance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Recycling/Refuse Loaders efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct daily Operators Licence vehicle checks, keeping accurate record sheets.
  • Immediately report any vehicle or equipment defects to the Vehicle Fleet Management service.
  • Undertake routine maintenance and repairs, minimising breakdowns and ensuring compliance.
  • Operate the vehicle in a way that supports the team in achieving their round targets.
  • Safely load and unload heavy loads onto the bin wagon.
Requirements:To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Previous experience as a Refuse Driver.
  • Valid Class 2 drivers licence
  • Excellent knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety practises.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Willingness to adhere to safety regulations and wear appropriate gear, including safety boots and high visibility vest.
