Job Description

We are hiring a Principal UX Researcher to join our omni-channel team who are defining and delivering the services we need to provide to our customers. We are striving to offer our customer any product from any location with the minimum amount of friction. The product manager will balance the customers voice and opinion along with the businesses desire to build the right omni-channel services.This is an exciting role for an experienced UX researcher who can:

  • Map end to end services and processes across all touchpoints online and offline.
  • Create rapid prototypes to test assumptions.
  • Communicate complex systems in simple terms to other teams and stakeholders.
  • Be the voice of the user, leading the research and testing to gain a better understanding of the journeys and playing these back to the teams.
  • Advocate high quality, inclusive and accessible user experiences, making appropriate decisions alongside the Product Manager and Delivery Manager.
  • Take responsibility for the design artifacts, systems and outcomes using established UX methodologies and processes.
  • Collaborate using clear communication, written and facilitation skills working closely with engineers, UX Designers and stakeholders to create a user-centric approach to the development of the omni-channel experience.
  • Engage in conversations with stakeholders as well as the departmental teams to produce high quality outcomes and present back decisions.
  • Help to drive innovation and good practice through the UX Community of Practice.
  • The Team You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team alongside a delivery manager, developers, QA, data engineering and product manager. The team have currently developed an App which reduces the time in store, for customers to check stock and request products from the storeroom. This App is the foundation to build a true omni-channel experience, allowing customers to purchase products that are out of stock in store from a different channel, with no friction.We are also in the early stages of creating a community of practice for UX to learn from other teams and promote better ways of working. You will be expected to help setup and contribute to the community.This is a chance to help us define and deliver a solution that creates a unique omni-channel shopping experience for our customers. You will work closely with the senior team of retail, merchandising, ecommerce and logistics as this experience impacts a significant number of business functions and is at the heart of our digital transformation journey.About You You can demonstrate valuable experience and competency across a range of Research methods, UX Methodologies and processes and have experience of rapid prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD and remote collaborative tools such as Miro.We like to talk to people with a desire to investigate, innovate, and develop emerging design and technological trends and champion accessibility. Having a thorough knowledge of UX research/design will support our focus on ensuring the highest quality output based on a deep understanding of the audience. In this case the focus will be around store colleagues and customers.You will have a can-do attitude engaging in the full end to end journey that might include offline solutions as well as the visual UI design or supporting other teams with the promotion of new features and concepts.Within your current organisation, you can demonstrate that you are highly inquisitive, spending time forming relationships with other business functions to create openness to allow the vision and strategy.The team continuously reflects and adapts to improve how they work.
