  • Using acquired skills and knowledge to support the maintenance of existing products.
  • Development of new products as required with minimal supervision.
  • Providing guidance to junior team members.
Please Note: Travel to customer sites for trials, both in UK and Europe will be required as part of the role.Qualifications and Experience the Successful Senior Laboratory Technician Candidate will have:
  • Qualified to a degree level in physical/chemical science or associated scientific subject.
  • Practical working knowledge in a relevant formulating laboratory environment.
  • Experience in operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of wide format/industrial printers.
  • Competent in the use of MSOffice (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
  • Experience in formulating coatings for various application, such as digital and coatings for paper.
  • Ability to devise test methods, analyse results and disseminate them in a professional and effective way.
  • Strong team player.
  • Able to take ownership and responsibility of their work and think for themselves while being receptive to feedback to continuously improve the quality of the development.

  • Technical Applications: Technical skills and ability to resolve problems across the specific product or application area are essential - including an understanding of raw materials / ink chemistry / printing applications / technologiesetc. Experience in the use of relevant techniques, formulating approaches and printing processes is essential.
  • Product / Sample Testing: Specific testing to defined standards or tolerances of samples, products, raw materials and the like so youll need to be proficient in the use of laboratory techniques and knowledge of SOPs.
  • Document Production: Effectively produce documents to a high standard. Youll need to write clear and concise reports, suitable for a distribution across a range of functions to best showcase you and your teams work.
  • Operating Equipment: Youll have the opportunity to use innovative equipment / machinery / instruments. These tasks must always be undertaken safely and effectively within set requirements and procedures to meet area targets. You must alsobe proficient in the use of laboratory techniques with knowledge of SOPs.
