Job Description

Business Development and Fundraising Manager An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with a friendly, well-established team to support with the lead on raising funds for the charity providing support within Domestic Abuse Services, Children, Young People and other family services, funding opportunitiesthroughout the borough of Rochdale.Hours of work: 36.25 hours week, (flexible to work some evenings and weekends when required)Location: Remote, office based (Rochdale) and within the communitySalary: £30,000 per annumResponsible to:CEOMAIN DUTIES:

  • To act as the lead on raising funds for the charity. Actively seeking funding opportunities. Bid Writing, Grants, and Corporate Fundraising included.
  • Planning and hosting fundraising events.
  • To identify funding opportunities and liaise with CEO and other managers regarding proposed new projects.
  • Nurture and sustain a positive, friendly and welcoming culture throughout the charity.
  • Raise the profile of RCT across the local and regional area and highlight the needs of service users.
  • Liaise at a strategic level with other senior providers and service commissioners.
  • Maintain good working relationships with key stakeholders..
  • Sustain the charity’s partnerships with voluntary and statutory services and seek opportunities to forge new relationships that strengthen and develop the work of the charity.
  • Improve, develop and promote engagement of our services to people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ensure the charity maintains its commitment to embedding the voice and influence of service users in its ethos and delivery.
General Duties
  • Provide regular progress, feedback to the Chief Executive
  • Keep clear and concise records.
  • Contribute to and/or produce relevant reports and end of year evaluations.
  • Being aware of and identifying funding opportunities and competitors
  • Contribute to the appropriate sharing of learning and dissemination of best practice.
  • Undertake all necessary ongoing training.
  • Attend regular supervision sessions, MT and staff meetings.
  • Abide by the Charities Equal Opportunities Policy and all Safeguarding Procedures
  • Effectively manage your own workload; prioritising as required.
  • To carry out other duties as assigned
Job Skills & Qualifications Preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, fundraising or similar area.
  • At least five years of experience working in fundraising or public relations.
  • Experience in writing bids
  • Knowledge of relevant software
Relationships:
  • Internal: All staff within the team, volunteer mentors and people who use the services of RCT
  • External: Local Voluntary Agencies, Local Authority staff, Funders, Commissioners and other organisations.
