Job Description

Personal Wellbeing Group FacilitatorLocation: Cardiff, CF24 3ADSalary: £27K per annumContract: Permanent, Full TimeWe are Wales Restorative Approaches Partnership and we are recruiting. We are seeking a Personal Wellbeing Group Facilitator to join part of a multi-agency team providing restorative person centred support focusing on and addressing a range of personal wellbeing issues faced by service users referred by the Probation Service. The postholder will be responsible for the facilitation of group sessions with male community offenders and prison leavers as part of the Personal Wellbeing service. We are delighted to be working in partnership with St Giles Trust & The Wise Group to deliver this service.Our interventions will focus on addressing the following:

  • Support around families and other significant relationships
  • Support to reduce social isolation and improve decision-making/lifestyle choices
  • Support with emotional wellbeing
  • Provide through the gates support for those leaving prison.
  • As our Personal Wellbeing Group Facilitator, you will be responsible for:
  • Facilitating the ReACT programme, according to agreed session plans, or other appropriate group sessions to service users who will either be serving community sentences or being released from prison.
  • Creating a safe and trusting environment, using trauma informed practice to successfully facilitate all group sessions.
  • Creating and maintaining supportive and constructive relationships with groups of service users.
  • Through facilitation of group sessions contribute towards achievement of prescribed outcomes.
  • Work flexibly, facilitating group sessions in a range of prescribed locations across a wide geographical area.
  • Use coaching skills to support and challenge service users as they participate in group sessions.
  • Monitoring and evaluating delivery of each group session to measure quality and effectiveness of delivery.
  • Identifying and recommending improvements or innovation to improve the quality and effectiveness of the ReACT programme or other group sessions.
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with external agencies including Probation, Prisons, partners, and others who will assist in achieving prescribed outcomes for service users.
  • Working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards.
  • Using agreed CRM databases, record all activity relating to delivery of the ReACT programme or other group work ensuring all information is recorded within agreed deadlines.
  • Providing updates and reports where required using a range of formats.
  • Proactively adopting a learning approach to the role, improving skills and knowledge to continue providing a high-quality service for service users.
  • In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
  • Experience of facilitating group sessions to those involved in the criminal justice system whether in the community or in prisons
  • Experience of engaging successfully with groups of challenging people, for example people who have complex needs, people who are reluctant to discuss their needs, and people who are angry and confused
  • Experience in working with partner agencies either as part of a multi-agency team working towards common objectives or negotiating to establish links to further the aims of a project.
  • Excellent I.T. skills including Outlook, Word, Excel, Zoom and Microsoft Teams
