Job Description

SEMH Teaching Assistant - Richmond

  • Empowering Learning is currently recruiting several flexible and enthusiastic SEMH teaching assistants for roles in Richmond (and surrounding boroughs). These full-time roles will start during June 2022, running for the remainder of the academic year, andthen continue in September 2022. (We have additional full-time SEMH teaching assistant roles in Richmond schools starting in September 2022 as well.)
  • Previous experience working with children is not essential, although other relevant experience (for example Autism, SEMH, EBD and other Challenging Behaviours etc) would be advantageous, as would experience supporting children or adults with SEMH needsin other relevant settings.
  • Level 3 teaching assistant qualification or a university degree are also desirable (although this does not necessarily need to be related to childcare). Roles for university graduates and Level 3 qualified teaching assistants are available in both primaryand secondary settings in Richmond.
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills are essential.
  • SEMH teaching assistant roles in Richmond schools would particularly suit individuals who are keen to undertake teacher training in the future, or who have confirmed PGCE or Teach First places, looking for SEMH teaching assistant experience in the meantime.
