It is the creation of the tenacious Duchess of Lauderdale and her husband, the Duke, who together transformed Ham into one of the grandest Stuart houses in England.Housed in the old bakehouse and laundry, our gift shop is the perfect place for visitors to treat themselves or a loved one, filled with stories of inspiring products and customers extending their experience with us from the property into the shop.Our shops are a step away from the high street and they differ between our places, to ensure that our visitors feel the spirit of wherever they may be. You’ll play an important part in delighting our customers and leading our team of staff and volunteers.In doing so, you’ll be helping to generate profits for us to reinvest in our amazing places, ensuring that they are there for everyone, for ever. What youll be doing With your love of leading people and ambition to deliver beyond expectation, your role will be to set stretching targets and lead your team to deliver a unique retail experience. Through supervising and motivating staff and volunteers, you’ll manage theday to day operation and ensure the retail team are engaged to exceed customer service expectations, and are proud to talk about the amazing work the National Trust are carrying out with the money that is invested back into our property.Please also read the full role profile, attached to the end of this advert. Who were looking for As the Retail Manager, you’ll have;•Experience managing a retail operation with knowledge of retail best practice (including selling, merchandising, space management, stock control, risk)•Experience coaching, developing and supervising teams – rotas, managing absence, giving feedback•Experience in ensuring a retail outlet maximises its sales potential.
