Job Description

In-House Tax Manager (Hybrid)A fantastic, high-profile opportunity has arisen for a Tax Manager to join the group tax team of this private equity-backed, global life sciences business which, following significant profitable growth, has annual revenues of over £700m.In this full-time role based on the outskirts of South London, you will report to and work closely with the Senior Group Tax Manager whilst maintaining a close working relationship with the Group Finance Team and senior finance leaders across the business,including with the rest of the Group tax team and have regular interaction with the finance, legal and commercial teams.You will relish working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment where you can quickly add value whilst developing alongside a high calibre leadership team. This role is both hands-on, and strategic advisor, so the ability to work across both ends of the rangeis essential.The role offers significant scope for personal development that will suit a strong tax manager with demonstrable experience in taxation and IFRS reporting and offers considerable opportunity to add weight to your CV.You will work with a highly flexible business that is constantly expanding. The work is very interesting with lots of M&A involvement, plus you will be working with a bunch of very talented and great people.Your ResponsibilitiesDue to the significant levels of growth both organically and through acquisitions (over 20 in the past 6 years), and the ambitious plans, which include continued M&A, we are seeking a top-tier individual to join and further develop the tax departments capabilities.Tax Accounting

  • You will lead the preparation of the quarterly and annual IFRS tax accounting for inclusion in the Groups consolidated financial statements
  • You will prepare the consolidated financial statement notes
  • You will complete month close tasks, including reconciliation of the tax accounts
  • You are responsible for country-by-country reporting for the group
  • You are responsible for the maintenance of the Groups effective tax rate model
Tax Compliance
  • You have responsibility for UK tax compliance (corporation tax and VAT), liaising with external providers as appropriate and managing correspondence/interaction with HMRC
  • You will have oversight of the non-UK tax compliance programme and liaison with Global tax advisors
Intellectual Property and Research & Development
  • You will assist in developing a programme to optimise R&D tax credit opportunities for the Group in the UK
  • You will assist in developing a programme to optimise patent box opportunities for the Group in the UK
  • You will assist in identifying strategy for IP management from a tax standpoint
VAT
  • You will prepare the UK VAT return
  • You will respond to auditors on the UK VAT return
  • You will liaise with cross-functional teams regarding changes within the VAT legislation
Transfer Pricing
  • You will assist in the full implementation of evolving transfer pricing arrangements across the Group working with cross-divisional/cross-functional teams
  • You will maintain a transfer pricing arrangement on an ongoing basis
  • You will assist in identifying further opportunities to optimise transfer pricing arrangements across the Group
Your Skills
  • You are ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified
  • You are an experienced tax professional
  • You are used to operating in an international business
  • You have experience in Onesource corporation tax and Onesource tax provisioning (desirable)
Your Remuneration and Rewards
  • Up to £75,000 base salary + 10% discretionary bonus scheme
