Job Description

My client is seeking Candidates that can assess initial homeless assessments under Part 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and make section 184 decisions. A comfortable case load size and good working conditions to be able to carry out all aspects of a HomelessPrevention officers role. Strong knowledge of Housing and Homelessness acts. The client understands the pressures of the position and is keen to support all team members.The team are looking for Candidates that can add quality amongst knowledgeable peers. The Homeless Caseworker will be supported into a case load by the team manager helping with any policies and procedures that they may not be familiar too. Leading yourown cases with the freedom to assess and deal with your work as best works for you. The team are looking for a candidate that can quickly adapt to their way of working and hit the ground runningDuties Includes:

  • Must have strong experience managing homeless caseworkers within a Homeless Service.
  • Day to Day co-ordination and supervision of caseworkers providing direction to all staff through regular 1-2-1s
  • Experience ratification and quality checking of case management and decision letters issued
  • To have and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, Codes of Guidance, case law and other best practice to ensure good quality s184 decisions are reached
