General Insurance Pricing Consultant/Analyst

Job Description

We are looking for a junior pricing practitioner, with experience in the UK general insurance personal lines or commercial lines market to join WTW as a Pricing Consultant/Analyst. You will join our general insurance practice within the wider UK InsuranceConsulting and Technology (ICT") line of business, to help us develop our pricing advisory capability. You will work beside some of the markets top thought members designing and implementing cutting-edge solutions to pricing and underwriting challenges faced by the worlds top general insurers and intermediaries. In your role you will be helping our broad set of UK pricing clients by:

  • Delivering best in class pricing and underwriting capability reviews
  • Helping to build effective pricing models, tools and processes using a wide range of analytical and data science techniques
  • Designing and building sophisticated MI and portfolio management capabilities
  • Leveraging your market knowledge in developing cutting edge pricing solutions in collaboration with various teams from across WTW
The Role
  • To build a market profile as a representative and advocate of WTW pricing consulting services and software tools
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with client contacts through effective communication and efficient, quality execution of projects
  • Actively seek to be involved in a variety of work to ensure a broad skill set (technical, management and client) is maintained and developed
  • Actively seek to improve processes and software by working with the software development team as appropriate as part of client engagements
  • Interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the clients broader business issues
  • Demonstrate commitment to WTW professional standards in managing analyses and in communications with clients
  • To develop new relevant propositions or to enhance current propositions in pricing leveraging WTWs toolset and broader pricing of intellectual property and resources
  • Meet goals for billable hours and intellectual capital development
  • With support, develop and present proposals to potential clients, demonstrating the economic value of the companys offerings
  • Use contacts within your current network to obtain introductions to new contacts; work to develop supporters for the companys products and services
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Delegate to more junior members of the team and contribute to the upskilling of other colleagues
The Requirements
  • Relevant previous experience in a pricing role in an insurance firm or consultancy within the general insurance market
  • Experience with leading pricing analyses including data manipulation, risk modelling and building implementable pricing models
  • Experience in using WTW pricing software, Radar
  • A track record in innovation and creativity delivering realised revenue enhancements
  • Experience of presenting analytical results to senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and creative skills with an ability to work within ambiguity
  • The ability to see the big picture, leveraging the resources of related practices to address clients business challenges
  • You may be working towards an actuarial qualification FIA/FFA or equivalent, however, this is not essential
