Job Description

This role has a starting salary of £36,282 per annum based on a 36 hour working week.We have an exciting opportunity for a Behavioural Insights Worker to work alongside us to make a real difference to the wellbeing of people in Surrey whilst gaining the chance to develop your own skills in our fantastic, supportive team.We are big promoters of our team mates striving for self development. This role would be perfect for someone looking to complete the UKPHR Practitioner Portfolio in Public Health or for an aspiring health psychologist.About UsThe Public Health team in Surrey is forward-looking with a strong focus on improving the health and wellbeing of our countys population and reducing health inequalities. SCC Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out three priorities:

  • Supporting people to lead healthy lives by preventing physical ill health and promoting physical well-being
  • Supporting peoples mental health and emotional well-being by preventing mental ill health and promoting emotional well-being
  • Supporting people to reach their potential by addressing the wider determinants of health
About the RoleWe think the biggest selling point of this role is simply how varied it is! For example, you will be leading on workshops aiming to build community resilience, co-designing community lead initiatives, gathering community insights to inform our exciting transformationprojects and creating and finetuning digital self-help materials.You will also be involved in the implementation of our Workplace Wellbeing programme, How are you Surrey Through your relationships with key teams across the county council, your work is going to directly influence the changes were making in a bid toimprove the lives of our valued residents.You will have the opportunity to work across the system including close partnerships with the Communities Partnerships and Engagement Team at SCC. The role will report to the Public Health Lead for Communities and Workplace and will receive supervision fromthe Chartered Health Psychologist, Public Health Principal for Mental Health.We are proud of our agile working policy that means you wont be asked to come into the office 5 days a week. This role will involve some travelling around Surrey and may involve some work in the evenings or weekends, but outside of this,you are welcome to work in any of our offices across the county including offices in Reigate, Woking, Leatherhead and Weybridge.About YouIn order for you to be considered for shortlisting for this role, we would love to hear about your;
  • Qualification or equivalent training and/or experience in one of the key areas of Public Health, Psychology/Behavioural or Social Sciences
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects through to completion
  • Proven ability of good written and oral communication skills, listening and interpersonal skills (e.g. group facilitation/primary data collection)
  • Experience in organising and delivering groupwork/workshops/training sessions
