Job Description

A leading award winning, employee-owned business with an international supply base in over 20 countries, suppling all major UK retailers.Reporting to the Head of Technical, you will be responsible for ensuring that processes for all products sourced are sustainable and ethical, as well as ensuring the business maintains a credible and measurable Sustainability and Ethical Policy.Responsibilities to include:

  • Updating sustainability policy on a regular basis, and ensuring all suppliers meet this standard
  • Liaising and establishing credible relationships particularly with customers promptly responding to their various requests
  • Understanding customers ethical and sustainable policies, communicating our commitment by contributing to external presentations and internal communication
  • Responsibility for all sustainable & ethical practices within the supply chain including vessel auditing, working with fishermen, vessel owners and suppliers to implement best practice
  • Building and maintaining the relationships with key partners including ISSF
  • When required, visiting factories and/or fisheries to assess ethical and sustainable standards
  • Attending events and conferences to research industry ethical and sustainable commitments & developments
Qualifications & Competencies
  • 2.1 or above in a relevant degree
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritise, multi task and meet deadlines
  • Highly motivated and project-driven
  • "Can do" attitude
  • Interest in FMCGs and the food industry
