Job Description

Senior Pricing Analyst - Leading UK Insurer - Technical or Retail - PermFantastic opportunity for a general insurance pricing analyst with 2-4 years experience to join one of the most trusted names in the UK insurance industry as a Senior Pricing Analyst. Working with a business where employees and customers are always at the core of their values and practices, you will be offered excellent opportunities to develop and progress your career, alongside a competitive salary and benefits package.Job DescriptionWorking in either the technical or retail pricing arena of a major personal lines insurance business, you will be a senior member of the team, responsible for leading projects, and mentoring and developing graduate, and junior analysts.This is a perfect opportunity to move into a senior role with more responsibility, with your duties as a senior pricing analyst will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with colleagues from across the business to deliver key projects, including rating enhancements, price optimisation, life-time value estimate for financial planning, Solvency II, etc
  • Investigate all available sources of information to recommend changes to the pricing team to help achieve volume and profit targets across all products, channels and brands
  • Responsible for the delivery of parts of the price optimisation programme of work
  • Manage, develop and carry out tasks that support and direct the business strategy, such as risk modelling, demand modelling and loss ratio projections
  • Evaluate key aspects of business performance, such as conversion, retention, loss ratios, risk modelling and rate analysis
  • Provide analytical support to the Pricing Team to ensure that the right pricing decisions are made and that a profitable book of business is written
  • Direct ad-hoc project work as and when requested by other parts of the business ensuring that the results are communicated appropriately. The results provided will be used to help solve business problems and/or make strategic business decisions
  • Assist the Analysis Managers by supervising Pricing Analysts as and when required. The Senior Pricing Analyst will be responsible for the accuracy and relevance of the analysis carried out by the analysts under his/her supervision. He/she will also make sure that the results are communicated appropriately
    • The Successful Senior Pricing AnalystI am looking for an experienced GI pricing analyst who wants to take the next step in their career at a leading UK insurer.You will have a minimum of 2 years insurance pricing experience, within either a retail or technical team, ideally working on personal lines products.It is essential that you have demonstrable business experience of statistical modelling, and/or machine learning/data science techniques, and have used industry recognised tools such as Emblem, Radar, SAS, Python or R.You also need to be a first class communicator who wants to be in a role where they are mentoring, and developing junior analysts, as this is key responsibility of a senior in the team.Whats on Offer for the successful Senior Pricing AnalystCompetitive base salary depending on experience, coupled with an excellent benefits package, study support (after a qualifying period), and bonus.
