Job Description

The starting salary for this position is £53,018per annum based on a 36 hour working week plus anon call allowance of £1,800 per annum.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Resource Manager within our Extended Hope Childrens Residential Home based in Redhill. Extended Hope is ahouse where young people facing emotional and mental health crisis outside of normal office hours can goto be assessed and supportedin a safe environment for a maximum of seven days and is registered for two children and young people. As well as providing respite during a crisis, we also support the family or/and professionals to create a plan of care, withthe aim of preventing the situation escalating and avoiding a hospital referral.This is a unique, multi-agency service for young people aged 11-18 whose needs cannot be met by one agency alone. It is a joint partnership between health services, childrens services and education, and also provides an out-of-hours emergency supportservice maintained by psychiatric nurses who can give support and care when most day services are closed. Extended Hope has a dedicated team of professionals which include psychiatrists, nurses, and residentialworkers.As a Resource Manager your passion and motivation for successfully managing a residential home will shine through to your colleagues, children and young people, and their families. Your leadership will see you putting safeguarding and risk management atthe heart of all decision making, whilst ensuring positive outcomes for young people are achieved through creative and innovative means. Your approach will be strength based, individualised and proactive and underpinned by effective assessments and risk managementconsiderations working collaboratively with your team.The inclusive culture you create will empower team members to help shape outcomes and provide the best support system possible for children and young people. Maintaining this culture will be imperative through regular supervision, career conversations, regularfeedback sessions and working with key stakeholders to ensure young people receive care that is always safe, suitable, and which helps them achieve goals.To be considered for shortlisting for the Resource Manager role, you must clearly evidence at application:

  • A recognised Social Work or clinical qualification and/or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Registration with Social Work England and/or an ability to meet Ofsted regulatory requirements to become a Registered Manager
  • In depth knowledge of delivering statutory childcare services and have had, within the last 5 years at least 2 years experience within childrens residential care
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills in a social care or health setting
