Job Description

Hardware Engineer – Competitive Salary + Benefits – Redhill, Surrey The RoleWe are looking for a skilled and capable Hardware Engineer to join our team based in Redhill. Working alongside the Hardware Lead, you will play a huge role in developing new products and improving our existing ones. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a high level of responsibility and make a difference in a dynamic business environment.The key responsibilities of a Hardware Engineer include, but are not limited to:

  • Working alongside the Hardware Lead to design and develop new products
  • Developing prototypes of designs where appropriate
  • Providing technical solutions as and when required
  • Implementing improvements and customer specific modifications to existing or new products
  • Providing technical support to both customers and other relevant departments within the organisation
  • Producing and maintaining all relevant technical documentations including CAD drawings, costing, design calculations and data, bills of materials, technical specifications and test data
  • Providing support to the sales and marketing team as may be required

    • The PersonThe key skills and qualities of a Hardware Engineer include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related field; with proven work experience as a Hardware Engineer (circa 5 years), having a particular focus on the design and development of embedded hardware systems, ideally in the aerospace, automotive or similar industries
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Experience of hardware integration, testing, measurement, debug and verification
  • An excellent knowledge of the fundamentals of analogue design and high-speed digital design and simulation; with experience of logic design using VHDL, Verilog or Logic Gate Capture
  • Good experience in the use of schematic capture / PCB design software e.g. Auto Desk Eagle; and of FPGA development tools, e.g. Quartus
  • Sound knowledge of Avionics Busses (A 429, MIL-STD-1553, CAN Bus); ethernet; Wi-Fi; USB; GPRS/3G/4G
  • Experience in using JIRA and Confluence development toolsets
