Job Description

We have opportunities to join our Safeguarding Adolescent Teams (working with children aged 12 and above) based across Surrey and currently have opportunities with our teams based in Guildford and Redhill.When not working with our residents in the community, we are keen to support agile working with a combination of home and office working. We are keen to get the balance right of providing flexibility but ensuring you feel connected to your team andthe service.The salary range for Advanced Social Workers is £41,127 - £45,519per annum. We also offer afinancial package of up to £6,000 which is payable in 3 instalmentsacross your first 18 months in post. Information about qualifying criteria to receivethis payment can be found HERE, withfurther information available in the attached Total Reward Statement about other financial benefits available to you includingprofessional fees, pension contribution and much more.Are you at a point in your career where you want to take on supervisory responsibility whilst utilising your skills as an experienced social worker This role enables you to work on complex cases whilst also giving you the opportunity to progress your careerthrough contributing and supporting managers to develop the skills and knowledge within the team, whilst occasionally deputising for the Team Manager. You will also have the opportunity to join Advanced Social Worker colleagues in county wide learning activitiesorganised by the Surrey Childrens Service Academy with a clear professional development pathway.About working with Safeguarding Adolescents: Working with families predominantly with children and young people aged 12 plus whose main concern is contextual safeguarding, neglect, on the edge of care or family breakdown including beyond parental control. The Family and Adolescent Safeguarding aimsto help parents tackle the challenges in their lives that impact on their parenting. The workers in the team will work with families to build on strengths and enable them to make changes so that children and young people can remain in their care. This is astrong emphasis on relationshipsrelationships with workers and family, relationships within families, relationships within the Family Safeguarding or Adolescent team.Family and Adolescent Safeguarding teams share the resource of the adult mental health workers, domestic abuse practitioners and officers, and substance misuse workers. Our approach is about more than simply introducing adult workers; it is about creatinga structure of truly integrated practice, this includes formal and informal group case discussion/supervision.
