Job Description

Working for a specialist logistics operator in Redditch, this Transport Planner role will involve working days Monday to Friday in a fast-paced environment, supplying equipment to a vast array of events, exhibitions and conferences across the UK and Europe.The opportunity attracts an excellent salary of up to £30,000 per year and offers superb long-term career prospects.Client DetailsA specialist logistics operator based in Redditch who are the go-to partner for many leading events, exhibitions and conferences around the UK and Europe in the supply of products and equipment.DescriptionThe role of Transport Planner in Redditch will involve:

  • Plan and co-ordinate all transport routes mainly throughout the UK and Europe taking account of cost and time efficiencies and availability of drivers and vehicles.
  • Forward planning for all general deliveries and collections.
  • Answer calls and taking ownership of any queries to make sure they are dealt with in a reasonable timescale.
  • Complete any KPIs and reports requested ensuring accuracy and an appropriate level of detail.
  • Knowledge of driver worker hours and tachos.
  • Other transport based tasks as required.
  • Other duties as reasonably required by the Company.
ProfileThe successful Transport Planner candidate will have:
  • Previous transport planning experience.
  • Good working knowledge of a transport office environment.
  • Strong communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, use initiative and be highly motivated.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain background.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Competent and confident IT skills, particularly Microsoft Systems.
