Job Description

If you are looking for a career in education but dont know where to start, this could be your chance to get stuck in!We are searching for two Learning Support Practitioners to take on a BRAND NEW position in one of the prisons we are supporting. You will be working with learners to support them in their English, Maths and ESOL classes.This prison is based in Redditch and prides itself in its forward thinking nature. The prison are commited to driving education, with a friendly team of passionate staff who thouroughly enjoy working there.Role Details:

  • Full Time- 37 hours Per Week
  • Working hours 8am-5pm Monday-Thursday, 8am-12pm Friday
  • Permanent position
  • £18935-£20447 p/a PLUS benefits!

  • Work with tutors/trainers to develop lesson plans to ensure that plans are in place to include all learners and maximise their ability to fulfil their potential as learners
  • Contribute to individual learning plans
  • Contribute to the initial assessment process for learners as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
  • To hold or be willing to work towards level 2 qualifications in literacy, numeracy within an agreed timescale
  • To hold or be willing to work towards a level 2 or 3 qualification for Teaching Assistants or SEN specialists within an agreed timescale
  • To have an understanding of how people learn and methods that can be used to enhance a learning experience
  • To have a track record of working effectively with people presenting with challenging behaviour
  • Effective communication & inter-personal skills
