Building Services Craftsman (Mechanical Bias)Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical Craftsman, to join the Estates Team mainly at the Alexandra Hospital Redditch. With the necessary skills to maintain and carry out minor installation works & repairs to hospital mechanical equipment, plant and systemsCandidates will have completed a recognized trade apprenticeship and be appropriately qualified in a relevant building services discipline. They will have a proven track record of effective delivery of mechanical maintenance and repairs in an acute hospital setting or equivalent environment. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled and will be able to tackle a number of disciplines including plumbing / pipe fitting, operational maintenance and repairs of heating systems – including steam boilers, repairs and maintenance of ventilation systems including AHUs, fan coils and air conditioning plant, maintenance and repairs to generators, general handyman work, building maintenance and repairs. The mechanical craftsman will also be expected to master basic electrical fault finding and repairs when adequately trained and Authorised to do so.You will be a “can do” individual with energy, drive and enthusiasm who is comfortable working on own initiative as well as working as part of an energetic and influential team seeking to achieve Foundation Trust Status.You may be required to participate in the Trust’s on call system and attend the hospital out of hours when required to do so.
