Well cover this during the assessment process.What you will be doingWould you like the opportunity to influence and shape multi-million-pound investment decisions about transient surge management and leakage management for of one of the UKs largest utility companiesThere is now an exciting opportunity to work in a hydraulicsystem environment and lead industry best practice.The Strategic Systems Optimisation Analyst will report into a Strategic Optimisation Manager and work with various stakeholders, especially the Hydraulic Engineer, to push delivery of various Calm systems schemes in conjunction with the wider System Optimisationteam and improvements in various ODIs like Leakage, Mains Repairs and C-MeX.This is vital for Thames Water to maintain and improve its status at a time when the business faces unprecedented challenges from a Customer Service and Leakage perspective. This will ensure Thames Water deliver acceptable levels of service in terms of waterquality, pressure, interruptions to supply and to limited disruption during the numerous repair, maintenance, and construction activities that you will be a direct stakeholder in.

  • The purpose of the role is to support identification of the potential for improvement on the water supply operations, carry out desktop design, implement a feasibility study and lead the delivery of solutions for a calm system operation. These solutionswill be in the field or across production sites (Reservoirs, Water treatment works, Water booster stations) that directly impact achieving key operational and regulatory targets
  • Supporting and managing the Surge Logging process in the water network, to enable scoping of further solutions in conjunction with the Engineer
  • Assisting the Engineer with analysis of long-term network issues such as loss of pressure, low flows, area integrity, network resilience. Completion of risk assesments required for the work impacting the clean water network
  • Evaluating and analysing operational information, understanding data integrity difficulties, to resolve basic problems
  • Ownership of investigation and resolution of pressure issues, either directly by the customer or by alarming Critical Pressure Points, understanding areas and developing solutions to individual problemsto provide direct input into reducing complaintsand improving TWs C-MeX score
We are looking for you to
  • Have a degree in a technical discipline like Engineering
  • Have a working knowledge of GIS mapping software and hydraulic modelling is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Have strong communication and leadership skills are required when negotiating or liaising with different stakeholders in this role
  • It is essential that the candidate possesses good analytical, problem solving, negotiating skills and extreme willingness to learn and work hard to drive their career within Thames Water
  • Have full driving licence and own transport is desirable, due to travel across the TW patch for site visits or meetings
