Job Description

Howdens Joinery are looking for a Category Assistant to join the Commercial Department, supporting the Category Team to source and deliver market leading ranges of products, enabling growth and profitability whilst providing a value-added service to theDepots.Based at our Raunds Campus and reporting to a Category Buyer, we are looking for someone who is passionate about product with the confidence to support and service UK depots. As an effective communicator you will be experienced in building working relationshipswith internal and external stakeholders.Role Responsibilities:

  • Answering Depot calls and queries
  • Creating and communicating accurate and fit for purpose product information to Depots and Marketing Teams.
  • Support the Category team in managing circa £60m of spend
  • Support the Category team to manage 15 supplier relationships
  • Delivering category budget
  • Supporting the management of product ranges, delivering promotions and new products to agreed timelines
  • Creating and maintaining data including SAP, K8, STEP
  • Support the Category team with price and market analysis and commercial presentations
We are looking for:
  • CIPS accreditation is desirable but not essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Product and lifecycle management
  • Relationship management
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
