Job Description

Primary Behaviour Support Assistant- Ramsbottom (BL0)1:1 behaviour support role in Key Stage 1 (Year 1 pupil)Full time 5 days a week (8.30am3:30pm)Mainstream Primary School located in the Ramsbottom areaStarting after February Half-Term (21st)The school is small with around 200 pupils and has mixed year classes. They are looking for extra support for a year 1 pupil in the mixed YR1/2 class, who has non-violent challenging behaviour.Key responsibilities and requirements for this teaching assistant role will include:

  • Supporting a pupil with behavioural needs on a 1:1 basis, in order to support their learning
  • Taking direction from class teachers, SLT and senior support staff and completing tasks to a high level
  • Have patience and a caring and understanding nature
  • Experience de-escalating situations of behavioural issues
  • Be able to use own initiative and act accordingly without having to be directed
  • Be able to work full-time for the rest of the academic year if required
