Job Description

The successful candidate will join my clients operation based near Purfleet where they will responsible for supporting and managing all compliance in customs across the company.Client DetailsI am recruiting on behalf of my client who is a specialist freight business who operates an air, sea, and road freight solutions across the world.DescriptionThe successful candidate will join my clients operation near Thurrock as a Customs Manager and undertake the following roles and responsibilities:

  • P&L responsibility for the department ensuring Gross Profit is maximised wherever possible
  • Streamline operational efficiencies whilst maintaining excellent customer service and staff morale.
  • Publish and Implement customer IOPs within the team to ensure the right level of focus and service is given.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and hold regular meetings to discuss department KPIs, initiatives and continuous development.
  • Ensure legislative compliance in all areas.
  • First point of escalation for all staff and client grievances.
  • Complete all administration functions in accordance with company policy and procedures.
    • ProfileThe successful candidate will live within a commutable distance to Thurrock and possess the following skills:
  • Have a good understanding of tariff classification of goods (GIR)
  • EU Export Control Legislations, Dual Use and Community General Export Authorisation (CGEA)
  • International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) US
  • Export Administration Regulations (EAR) US
  • Import Licensing
  • TIR Carnet regulations, applications and management
  • Intrastat Submissions and Management
  • National Community Transit System
  • Transit Accompanying Documents (TADs)
  • T2L, T2L (F)-origin docs
  • ERTS management Air, Road and Sea (security and customs activity)
  • Duty Deferment Management
  • Bonded Warehouse Management
  • Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS entries and management)
  • Excise movement guarantee management
  • Knowledge of CHIEF Various Customs Clearance software packages
