Job Description

Recovery WorkersLocation: HMP DartmoorHours: Full time, 35 hours per week (to include some weekend working)Salary: £18,685 to £23,230 per annum depending on experienceContract: PermanentOur client is looking for a two Recovery Workers to join their friendly team at HMP Dartmoor. In this role, you’ll be responsible for working with and motivating adult male prisoners to engage in recovery from substance misuse.Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, Recovery Workers deliver an integrated service through the provision of a range of interventions including strengths based assessment, risk assessment and management, recovery planning, structured group and 1:1 work, psychosocial interventions, and drug testing. The role also involves liaising effectively with partnership agencies in order to ensure continuity of care, key working, and access to appropriate services.What they’re looking forThey’re looking for enthusiastic people with experience working in a similar role, including undertaking assessments and delivering substance misuse psychosocial interventions in 1:1 and group-work settings. You’ll have a good understanding of group working and group dynamics, and will be able to demonstrate competent group work facilitation skills.Some knowledge and understanding of mental health issues would be helpful, and you’ll be comfortable dealing with the emotional content of sessions and constructively challenging the behaviours you see.You’ll be able to demonstrate excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and will be confident managing your own priorities in order to carry a diverse workload with competing demands.Just as importantly, you’ll have a genuine interest in the understanding of substance misuse problems and a positive, recovery focused attitude.About the organisationThis thriving charity provides services across Devon and Dorset, in the community and within prisons.
