Whilst we support the Jewish community, we celebrate and benefit from the diversityof the communities in which we are based and welcome applicants from all backgrounds.Tenancy & Housing OfficerThe Role:The Tenancy & Housing Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management concerning housing, facilities, and tenancy management in relation to 25 properties within the supported living services in Manchester. The Head of Housing & FacilitiesManagement is based in London and will be accountable for all things related to Housing.The role will include providing a responsible front-line service to our members, tenancy and leasehold management, property inspections, tenancy verification checks and general community management. The focus of this role will be to ensure that the servicesare delivered to a high standard and meet the agreed performance targets, establishing and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders.The post holder will be required to take responsibility for the delivery of property management services across the Manchester portfolio, as well as contribute to the growth opportunities; therefore, the ability to drive is an essential part of this role.Tenancy & Housing Officer - Key Responsibilities:- To manage the daily operations of the housing department for all Langdon Members, this may at times include strategic and financial responsibilities- To work with individuals with learning disabilities, the registered manager, social work team, families, landlords and relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate assessment and transition of people with learning disabilities moving into supported livinghousing- To provide support and advice on housing options, rights and entitlements on all social welfare topics, to help secure safe and sustainable accommodation for adults with learning disabilities and autism.- Directly supporting tenants to manage their tenancy, assisting them with housing benefit claims and signposting them to relevant support services and liaising with support services where required- To be responsible for issuing tenancy agreements and helping members understands and accepts tenancy obligationsTenancy & Housing Officer - You:- Educated to GCSE level with grade A-C in Maths & English- Good knowledge of Health and Safety Acts and Fire Regulation- Experience of working within a supported and/or social housing setting in an assets-based way- Good knowledge and understanding of housing options and welfare benefits- Possess detailed knowledge of parts VI and VII of the Housing Act 1996 (desirable)- Strong project management and organisational skills- Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and proceduresTenancy & Housing Officer - Benefits:- 28 days holiday including bank holidays + 3 days for Jewish Holidays- Pension- Employee Assistance and Wellbeing Programme- Development and career progression opportunitiesPlease note this post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Application to the Disclosure and Barring.Closing Date: 2nd November 2021We reserve the right depending on application numbers to close or extend the closing dates for positions; we would therefore recommend an early application.To submit your CV for this exciting Tenancy & Housing Officer opportunity, please press Apply now.
