The school meets the needs of pupils with special needs including ADHD, autism, speech, language & communication difficulties, and social & emotionaldifficulties. Our recent Outstanding rating from Ofsted recognizes Lakeside’s reputation as one of the leading SEN provisions in the Northwest of England. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Science Teacher to join our team. As an SEN Science Teacher, you will play a crucial role in helping students with diverse needs achieve their full potential in the field of science. You will be responsible forcreating engaging and differentiated lesson plans, adapting teaching techniques to meet individual student requirements, and fostering a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and inspiring.Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver science lessons to students with SEN, tailoring your teaching methods to accommodate their unique learning styles.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SEN department.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assess and track the progress of students with SEN, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure a holistic and coordinated approach to student development.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and understanding of SEN.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
  • Teaching certification or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching science with SEN student is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific principles across various disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in incorporating technology into teaching practices.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
  • Organizational skills to manage lesson planning, assessments, and classroom materials effectively.
