Job Description

ICP-MS Technician£28,000 per annumPermanentLiverpoolAre you an experienced ICP-MS Technician looking for progression opportunities, recognition or job satisfactionYou have the opportunity to join a global testing and inspection company that are world specialists in metals and minerals. Their reputation for quality, service, reliability and respect is known internationally and their dedication to their employees is atthe heart of their business.Your new role will see you operate the ICP-MS spectrometer for the analysis ofinorganic samples. You will be responsible for not only the day to day running of the instrument, but you will also maintain the instruments performance through maintenance andtroubleshooting. You will have the opportunity to develop methods and prepare calibration standards.Responsibilities:

  • Organising workloads to ensure samples are reported in agreed timescales.
  • Analysis of samples using ICP-OES or ICP-MS, ensuring all ISO 17025 quality requirements are met in line with laboratory procedures.
  • Process and interpretation of analytical results.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation.
Required knowledge:
  • Three years ICP-MS experience. (Experience operating other ICP instruments may be considered)
  • Ability to display a high level of maths and computer skills.
  • Accuracy, consistency, manual dexterity.
  • Ability to follow instructions and identify problems.
  • Experience with LIMS based data systems would be preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
