A client based in South Wales are currently on the lookout for a Principle Software Engineer to join a fast and dynamic environment. They are a Start-Up company, and therefore require someone who is a hands on engineer with experience working with EmbeddedSystems and ideally Motor Controllers.CompanySpecialising in magnetic engineering innovations that dramatically improve electric motor and generator efficiency for propulsion applications such as aviation, aerospace and electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will have successful experience taking highpower motor controller design projects from concept to manufacturing.Main Responsibilities Develop motor control software design concepts in support of system requirements. Lead responsibility for the development of software for on-board units including Motor Controllers and Power Management Units. Create technical documentation, i.e., concept documents, system functional and design specifications, technical specifications and test reports for all designs. Implement software based digital filtering for sensor monitoring Take a leading role in implementing software strategyRequirements Minimum 5 years design experience working in an embedded electro-mechanical design environment. Experience at expert level in C programming of embedded software. Experience with mission critical software from either the Space, Transport, Medical or similar industry with strong requirements for quality of the software solutions. Experience writing software using National Instruments LabView/Python/Arduino. Experience in design of SW architecture, user interfaces, and documentation for embedded controllers Experience with software build tools, version control and scripting languages Knowledge of MATLAB Simulink for controls developmentThe position is also remote working with the need to come on site on occasion (1-2 times per month depending on the need).
