Job PurposeWere looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Digital product team within IT and Change. As we ramp up delivering positive outcomes for our customers and business through agile delivery with Product Teams, the business analyst will beexpected to enhance the capability in this direction. Youll therefore need to have the right mix of experience using agile and other change methodologies to help drive our transformation journey. As a Senior Business Analyst, youll work closely with the Product Owner, technology and business stakeholders to bring to life the priorities and outcomes the wider team need to deliver, modelling those in a roadmap which clearly informs the future releaseand sprint targets. Together with the team and the wider Canada Life business youll help to drive out positive outcomes for business. Job Summary The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for enabling business change through:

  • Helping to shape propositions, evaluate needs and develop business strategies and models to improve efficiency, productivity, or profitability
  • Offering the right levels of analysis and requirements to inform decisions, crafting and implementation of solutions
  • Using analytical skills and experience to review and improve business operations, processes, and systems, including the role and utilisation of data across each of these areas
  • Providing technical/industry expertise and guidance on business solutions/opportunities
What Youll Do
  • Work end to end from proposition to delivery, owning the business analysis and requirements management lifecycle in your initiatives
  • Be the domain expert and customer advocate in your area, working with the Product Owner or delivery lead to successfully deliver change that meets customer and business needs, on time and within budget
  • Ascertain the best analysis approach for breaking down complexity, developing hypothesis and MVPs
  • Manage stakeholders to identify business needs and translating into change items for delivery
  • Ensure target solutions meet legal, regulatory, compliance and contractual obligations and deliver aligned business benefits
  • Ensure business analysis artefacts are produced to a level of quality that meets audit requirements and traceability from Solution Architecture designs through to testing outputs
  • Utilise analytical tools and techniques to undertake business and data analysis, with a forensic level of attention to detail
  • Provide support and mentoring for wider BA community to help solve problems
  • Support the BA practice lead to champion the community and own initiatives that evolve and improve the practice
  • Provide leadership within IT&Change function to champion best practices and standards and ensures that projects adhere to them providing feedback on enhancements
Who You Are
  • Focussed on value creation, with exceptional analysis and problem solving skills
  • Possess commercial acumen with the ability to look at the big picture to meet strategic outcomes
  • Confident in traversing business and technical concepts and joining the dots between
  • Can use a variety of techniques to effectively communicate, help visualise and influence product teams and key stakeholders to support proposed strategies, process improvements and operational decisions
  • Have worked in financial services and in digital propositions
  • Desirable to have knowledge of the Life & Wealth industry including the governing regulatory framework.
  • Experience of iterative Product Delivery methodologies, including Agile Framework, Scrum, Waterfall and Lean Engineering in cross functional teams
  • Experience of sharing technical and non-technical details in a manner that is easily understood by stakeholder groups
  • Resourceful and able to devise creative solutions to problems
  • Experience of testing and mapping business processes and protocols
Qualifications Essential:
  • Demonstrable experience in working in Finance services and in digital transformation.
  • Evidence of influence and thought leadership in previous organisations.
  • Delivery of high-quality analysis in iterative delivery environments
Desirable:
  • Worked in customer facing digital journeys and propositions.
  • Hands on experience in Agile delivery and any appropriate certification
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent
