Job Description

Repairs CoordinatorSalary: £30,585 per annumLocation: Haringey, North LondonContract: 6 month FTC Hours: 36 hours per weekAbout the role:As the Repairs Coordinator on Broadwater Farm, you will assume a leading role in establishing a highly visible and responsive repairs service on the Broadwater Farm estate.This is a challenging role, part of a growing business and adding significant value by providing leadership, development and support to employees across the new organisation. The role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, withthe natural ability to network and build effective relationships within the departmental team(s) and with other key stakeholders across the organisationThis will include identifying and overseeing the completion of communal repairs on the Broadwater Farm estate and, leading on the diagnosis and resolution of complex repairs issues related to the estates infrastructure and original design.About youYou will primarily be based within the Haringey Repairs Service but will work closely with the team responsible for regeneration works on the estate and other operational teams, including the Estate Services, Concierge and Neighbourhood Management teams.You will be technically skilled but equally at ease communicating with customers and collaborating with colleagues. You will understand some of the challenges associated with system built 1960s council housing and will be able to develop innovative solutionsto complex issues.Duties and responsibilities

  • To undertake regular estate and block inspections of the communal areas of Broadwater Farm to identify repairs issues.
  • To assess condition, identify & diagnose building defects and prepare schedules of repairs, specifications and issue and manage works to general repairs
  • To act as a central coordinating point for all teams on BWF where repairs issues are identified and require resolution, providing technical advice to colleagues and stakeholder as required.
  • To establish mechanisms for reporting repairs volumes, progress and outcomes, develop coherent reports detailing repairs and related performance on a regular basis and deliver to stakeholders as required
  • To provide technical knowledge to resolve complex issues and to embed learning within the wider business
  • To implement quality, financial and budgetary control systems in accordance with service requirements and performance targets.
  • To oversee and post inspect sub-contractors where they are required to undertake specialist works
  • To work closely with colleagues in estate services, concierge services, estate regeneration and housing management to resolve outstanding repairs requests
  • To assist in resolving disrepair claims on the estate where necessary, including providing advice on the specification and supervising the delivery of works in order to minimise the loss to the organisation.
  • To carry out the project management of minor works schemes and Estate Improvement projects, including the reporting of performance and outcomes.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Building contract administration
  • Financial and quality control
  • Project management and administration
  • Full driving licence - must have access to a vehicle to carry out their duties
Knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge & understanding of Health and Safety legislation
  • Knowledge and understanding of notifications under H & S legislation

  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organization
  • Experience of supervising and coordinating larger planned repair works.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to provide formal written reports and responses to formal complaints.
