Job Description

Cordant People are delighted to be recruiting for an Environmental Lead for a global food manufacturer based in Portlethen!Salary:£32 000£35 000 per annum DOELocation: Portlethen, AberdeenshireContract: PermanentA successful candidate will need to be skilled at evaluating, observing, and controlling the legal flow of hazardous waste and environmental pollutants at the clients site, working with management to take on a focused approach to environmental affairs.Day in the life as a Environmental Lead:

  • Implement environmental strategies and to ensure corporate sustainable development.
  • Working with site purchasing and operations teams for sustainable procurement for goods and services.
  • Coordinate all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation and renewable energy.
  • Implement site, legislative and environmental policies.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Liaise with relevant bodies on environmental matters.
  • Audit, analyse and report environmental performance to internal and external clients.
  • Undertakeimpact assessments to identify, assess and reduce the site environmental risks.
  • Promote and raise awareness of environmental issues.
  • Develop, implement and maintain environmental management systems.
  • Identify training for staff at all levels on environmental issues and responsibilities.
  • Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs and revenues.
  • Write environmental reports and produce weekly/monthly environmental data.
  • Set site sustainability targets.
