Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a friendly and enthusiastic receptionist to join our existing Client Care team at Vale Vets in Portishead.The role involves meeting and greeting clients and their pets, booking appointments, taking payments and communicating confidently with our clients.The position will involve working at our main hospital in Portishead and our branch in Pill, so must have use of own carWe are looking for someone to work 27 hours per week on the following 2 week rota:Week 1:- Mon 12pm-6pm- Tues 10am-4pm- Wed 8am-6.30pm- Sat 8am-1.30pmWeek 2:- Mon 12pm-6pm- Wed 8am-6.30pm- Fri2pm-8pm- Sat 8am-1.30pmOvertime is available for holiday & sickness cover.The Role - Part Time Veterinary Receptionist

  • First and last point of contact for all clients on the phone, face to face & email
  • Booking appointments for Veterinary Surgeons & Veterinary Nurse consultations, and for operations
  • Ensuring the waiting room and reception area is always kept clean and well-presented
  • Giving preventative healthcare advice for example recommending our flea treatments. Full training will be provided
  • Promoting and being knowledgeable of our Healthcare Plan. Full training will be provided
  • Receiving payments from clients, processing securely and end of shift banking procedures
  • Responding to emails and enquiries
Applicant Requirements
  • What are we looking for in a candidate
  • Ability to provide a high standard of client care skills in a fast-paced and sometimes pressurised environment with customers both face to face, over the telephone or by written communication
  • Proven experience of using Microsoft Office; databases; booking & telephone systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with clarity both orally and written

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to show discretion in sensitive situations
  • A team player -must be reliable and able to get along with others
  • Previous Receptionist experience is essential and previous Veterinary Receptionist experience is advantageous
