You might be still be completing your A levels, or someone who has an established career and wants to switchand start a new career in accountancy.Youll be supported to study towards a formal AAT accountancy qualification (Association of Accounting Technicians) via an apprenticeship and start your journey towards a fulfilling and rewarding accountancy career. Senior members of the team will support with training and our internal training will help you develop in the role.The accounts team prepares accounts for a variety of external clients from organisations across the UK. You will learn the fundamentals of bookkeeping, accounts preparation, VAT returns, payroll, budgeting, basic audit testing and financial performance,personal and corporate tax and building relationships with clients. In Portishead we have a diverse client base to include, SMEs, not-for-profit individuals, and regulated industries.What we are looking forWe are looking for dynamic, ambitious individual with a positive cando attitude who are looking for a challenge.You will have pace, accuracy and understand the importance of excellent client service.You will have confidence with numbers, great attention to detail and the ability to confidently talk to people to build client relationships.Highly personable with excellent verbal and written communication is also crucial.Accountancy can be technically demanding with new concepts and regulatory changes to grasp. You should be able to learn quickly and be at ease with grasping new concepts. We will of course be on hand to provide support and adviceQualificationsWe are looking candidates who have GCSES in Maths and English (grade 4 and above) and/or A Levels (grades C and above).The successful candidate will be interested in having a career in accountancy and looking to study the AAT qualification.In addition, you will have an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate excel skills as a minimum.PackageA generous remuneration package includes:
