Job Description

A successful and growing business is looking for a qualified/part qualified Finance Manager to look after all accounting aspects of the Belgian side of the business (no previous European Account experience is required).Reporting to the Finance Director the ideal candidate will have experience of payroll, purchase ledger, monthly reporting + VAT (Knowledge of European finance not required, but this is a good learning opportunity!) This role is a fantastic opportunity to take full ownership and responsibility of Finance/Accounting for the Belgian side of the business & is a Hybrid role3 days in office 2 WFHAs Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overall responsibility for monthly and annual reporting for Belgian subsidiary
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts to deadline
  • Ensuring all control accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis
  • Controlling the fixed asset register
  • Supporting FD with roll out of Power BI software application to support reporting across the group
  • Preparing all management information including stock analysis
  • Providing all financial reporting for company
  • Providing all year end information to auditors and supporting to conclude year-end audit
  • Overseeing regular stock takes ensuring cut offs are adhered to and investigating variances
  • Provision of VAT and export reporting for relevant tax authorities liaising with local accountants
  • Provision of information for weekly and monthly payroll for Belgian staff to local bureau
  • Working with the ledger team to ensure that the purchase ledger is clean with all cash allocated in a timely manner
  • Working with the ledger team to ensure that sales ledger is clean
  • Support ledger team with credit control as and where needed
  • Managing cash flow in consultation with FD and making in advance stock payments as needed
  • Regularly review standard costs
  • Be prepared to take responsibility for other group entities as part of development
We are looking for a Finance Manager who has the following skills and experiences:
  • Qualified accountant or Part Qualified or QBE (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Highly IT literate with excellent Excel skills
  • Experience of Great Plains would be beneficial but not essential
  • Experienced working in SME as part of small team
  • Used to covering all bases in accounts for a small company
  • Experience of system implementations would be advantageous
