Administration Officer (AO)Portishead BS20Office Based At Above Location - No Work From Home Or Alternative Location Available For This Position£11.60 PHHoliday 34 Days Per Annum6 Month Temporary BookingFull Time PositionStandard 37 Hour Week Monday - FridayBetween the hours of 08:00 - 18:00Clearance RequirementsCTC Clearance Checks are required for this roleYou must have been a resident in the UK for at least the last 5 years and hold a Current Passport With Right To Work In The UK And Indefinite Leave To RemainAbout the clientThe Biometric Immigration Document Management Unit (BIDMU) is recruiting for a number of AO roles within its command. BIDMU deals with issues relating to the production, delivery, correction, and replacement of biometric residence permits (BRPs), the physicalproof of a persons immigration permission. Those working in BIDMU support customers who have encountered problems receiving, correcting, or replacing their BRP.When dealing with customers internal to the Home Office, interactions will be a mix of written and verbal responses. For customers external to the Home Office, response will almost always be in writing.Responsibilities And Key Points To Note

  • Full training will be provided and is accommodated over a period of 5 days
  • Free parking outside the building, and the office is served by the local bus network with a stop very close to the building.
  • Previous experience of working in an office environment
  • Demonstrate effective Time management, Organisation, Team working and Decision-making
  • Strong IT skills are required, including being proficient in the use of MS Office packages including Word, Excel and email
  • AO candidates are expected to be both flexible and adaptable as there may be a requirement to work across all work areas, depending on business need.
  • Having responsibility for effective personal and team delivery.
  • Processing different postal correspondence efficiently, identifying urgent correspondence and escalating issues to management where required.
  • Sifting returned Biometric Residence Cards and ensuring that appropriate action is taken in line with internal departmental processes and guidance.
  • Responding to customers, both internal and external, to ensure appropriate information is shared.
  • Produce high quality work which delivers a quality service for customers.
  • Work in professional manner and reflect Home Office values.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and secure provision of data to customers with adherence to General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
  • Maintain daily recording of own statistical information feeding into the teams overall productivity
  • Assess the results of any checks and determine the required action in line with policy guidelines
  • Working collaboratively and effectively as part of a team demonstrating awareness of Home Office policies concerning Equal Opportunities, Diversity and Health and Safety
  • Share knowledge, best practice and support your team in their work
  • Support other teams as required and as workloads fluctuate
  • Treat all customers fairly, impartially, and with due respect in line with Departmental standards and Civil Service values.
  • Provide constructive feedback and play an active part in team meetings, 10@10s and improvement initiatives
  • Additional duties within the scope of the grade may vary dependent on business needs
