Job Description

What is special about this opportunityThis is an opportunity to join our project that provides 8 spacious, self-contained flats for young people aged 16-25. Support is tailored to individuals needs and can include:

  • Applying for benefits and supporting to find appropriate permanent accommodation
  • Facilitating activities that could include basic DIY, independent living skills learning, craft making, group discussions, gardening, decorating, games, quizzes, fitness and film nights
  • Connecting with external partners in Neath including social services and youth services that offer support and engagement for young people.
  • Administrative tasks including recording the support provided and keeping accurate records
  • Supporting with access to ICT, employment, education and volunteering opportunities
We have a part time permanent position available for 19.5 hours per week.The actual salary based on these hours is £10,190The scheme is covered 24 hours, 365 days per year so you would be expected to work on rota which could include bank holidays and other holiday periods.The successful candidate will need to be flexible to meet the needs of the service users including working days, evenings, weekends and sleep ins. Examples of a typical sleep-in shift is working 1600-2300, sleep onsite, and 0700-0900 in the morning.You will be expected to complete at least one sleep in a week as part of a rota basis. The manager is happy to discuss the rota in more detail if required, please contact Mike Green on You will receive an additional payment of £34.54 for sleep ins. Earning up to an extra £1,796 per year approximately.*Yearly income will be around £11,986 including sleep ins*For this role you will also require an Enhanced DBS check, which we pay for.
