Job Description

Field Service EngineerLocation: Covering Port Talbot and surrounding areasSalary: £32,000 - £42,000(DOE) + Overtime available at 1.5 x and 2 x standard hourly rate (subject to work load)My client, one of the Southwests most successful Construction & Agricultural Machinery sales companies is looking to employ a motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter / MobilePlant Mechanic to join their successful customer focused team in Port Talbot.My client will provide the following for the successfulField Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic;

  • Fully maintained and equipped company Van, lap-top with diagnostic and product support software, mobile Tablet and Mobile Phone
  • All PPE and company uniform provided
  • 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
Types of machines the Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic would work on:
  • Construction Compaction Equipment
  • Tracked Excavators from 13 ton to 24 ton
  • Wheeled Excavators
  • Generators
  • Backhoe Loaders
  • Teletrucks
  • Agricultural Rotating Telehandlers
  • RTFL, dumpers, rollers and bowsers.
Duties & Responsibilities of Field Service Engineer / Mobile Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Mechanic Technician:
  • Carry out routine maintenance and breakdown repairs to Plant
  • Fault diagnose and rectify all types of mechanical and electrical faults
  • Have a keen eye for detail, reporting machine defects and upselling the services provided by my client wherever possible. This also comes with financial benefit for the candidate for all opportunities created
  • Successfully diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain and various other faults prior to initiating and completing a repair
  • Maintain, repair and service all equipment as per manufacturers specifications
  • Make sure work is carried out in a safe manner and equipment and facilities supplied are used in a way to enable this
  • Attend breakdowns on all sites as required at any other designated site
  • Knowledge of electronics / vehicle electrics, hydraulics & pneumatics
  • Experience in welding and fabrication
  • Highly capable in diagnostics and repairs of all different aspects of plant and vehicles.
The successful Mobile Plant Fitter / Mobile Fitter / Plant Fitter / Mobile Plant Technician will have:A professionally recognised qualification in Heavy vehicle/Plant Maintenance and repair (NVQ Level 2 or 3 or equivalent)All relevant in date CPCS ticket/s for operating machinery on siteYou will ideally hold an in date CSCS cardExperience in a similar role within the last 3 yearsA full UK Driving licenceTo apply for this position please email your CV to or call Dudley
