Job Description

We are currently recruiting on behalf of Tata Steels Port Talbot team for an electrical craft engineer.Client DetailsTata Steel Port Talbot are a critical area of Tata Steel in the UK, they are on a journey. A journey creating exciting products that support our customers growth in an area thats receiving millions of pounds of investment whilst bringing new technologyto the forefront.DescriptionThe key responsibilities are-

  • Providing engineering expertise & advise in order to diagnose and correct complex faults in the manufacturing process equipment.
  • Developing expertise and keeping up to date in maintenance techniques and equipment development applicable to a heavy manufacturing environment by self-study and attendance on appropriate courses
  • Providing comprehensive reports on breakdowns, repairs and related engineering activities where appropriate recommending improvements to equipment or systems.
  • Undertaking training as required for new specialists, other engineering grades, and manufacturing teams
  • Supervising Tata Steel or contract personnel and where necessary issue certificates of isolation as part of the safe system of work.
  • Being familiar with many specific, modern day electrical systems including PLCs, Drives, AC & DC motor circuitry and be able to read and interpret electrical wiring and schematic drawings.
ProfileThe successful candidate will have-
  • Qualified to HNC level, which will have normally been obtained through a craft apprenticeship in electrical engineering or hold a Modern Apprenticeship certificate
  • Relevant plant experience in electrical systems and be capable of supervising personnel in the safe execution of engineering repair work
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be computer literate
